Celebrating its third year, a nominee of the Eyrarosin Award and paving its way as an arts-institution within East Iceland, List í Ljósi announces its return to light up Seyðisfjörður on the 16th – 17th of February 2018.

This free event transforms the town into a brightly lit hub of installations and sculptures, both interactive and traditional. The 2017 event boasted a prolific number of works from participants across world as well as local artists.

The festival is open for applications and calls on creative minds to illuminate, transform and interpret Seyðisfjörður in a new light. The dealine for submissions is 11 November 2017 and successful proposals will receive  budget to realise their proposals as well as travel to the festival.  Registrants for the 2018 event are briefed that their works should transform the surrounding town and landscape of Seyðisfjörður.  “Imagine, illuminated waterfalls, projection mapped buildings and ethereal sculptures melting into the landscape.” says List í Ljósi director Celia Harrison. ”

Between 20:00 – midnight. Artworks will emerge from the darkness of the town and reveal themselves to the audience, who will see Seyðisfjörður, and art, in a new light.

Alongside the two-night art trail, the festival now introduces a 5-day program of films and events from 10th of February – 15th February together with Flat Earth Film Festival showcasing a curated program of international short films and features screened daily at Herðubreið Cinema.

All exhibitions, performances and programs are free to the public.
