Printing from a matrix made from an ordinary juice box offers a huge variety of possibilities for beginners as well as for participants with experience in printmaking. You can work with an etching needle like drypoint, you can cut out forms or scratch the surface to form different textures. You can even incorporate small objects, such as a feather or piece of wire. And you can also combine different printing plates.
Visiting artist/educator Dörte Köstlin will help to spark your creativity by encouraging you to take a fresh look at ordinary things. (Weather permitting, this part of the class will take the form of a short walk outside). Back at the workshop, you will convert your impressions into printing techniques in a playful, experimental and creative way. This workshop is suitable for everyone who enjoys the pleasure of leaving things to chance and discovering something new.
