Skagen AiR - Call for twelve-week artist’s residency
Skagen AiR is open to Nordic artists from Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, across all art forms.
The program was launched in 2024, and so far, 12 artists have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in their art while residing in Skagen. Their presence has been enriching not only for the artists themselves but also for the town, its residents, and visitors.
We are truly grateful for all the exciting input and experiences we have gained by engaging with the artists and their creative processes during their stay in Skagen.
Skagens Kunstmuseer builds on the legacy of the artist colony established by Anna and Michael Ancher, P.S. Krøyer, Holger Drachmann, and many other artists and creatives around the year 1900.
It is in these historic studios that Skagen AiR now offers new artists the opportunity to work.
By opening these old studios, Skagen AiR seeks to create new artistic connections between the heritage left by the Skagen painters and the present-day life of Skagen, its residents, and its businesses.
Would you like to be the next artist to work in the historic studios of Michael Ancher and P.S. Krøyer?
Would you like to be part of the Skagens Kunstmuseer community and engage with Skagen’s town and residents through your art?
