A STATEMENT FROM THE ASSOCIATION OF ICELANDIC VISUAL ARTISTS ON THE SITUATION IN UKRAINE


The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists stands in solidarity with our Ukrainian partners, artists, and the people of Ukraine. The Russian invasion is not only a war on Ukraine but a threat to democracy, human rights, and world peace. International collaboration is at the heart of SÍM and we are proud of our international partners across the globe, however, as we stand in solidarity with Ukraine we can confirm we will not participate in any cultural relations with Russia, Belarus, or any other state participating in this unlawful action upon Ukraine´s sovereign soil. This includes all official and governmental organizations and companies from these nations at this time. We urge other arts organizations, large and small, to follow suit.
We stand with Ukraine.
