///ENGLISH///

Welcome to Dream Island, it can be anything you want it to be.

The publication explores themes of belonging and alienation through its literary and artistic contributors. As a celebration we want to invite you to have a first glimpse at the newly produced publication – everyone is welcome!

From isolation to refuge and recreation, islands are alive with mixed meanings. Similarly, dreams are rife with multiple connotations, think the dark content of a terrifying nightmare or the glittery echo of a sun soaked day dream. Both invoke a realm where societal order is absent, where the subconscious and the irrational run free. Freedom or chaos? Whatever the meanings or connotations, Dream Island is a place to which we can all belong.

Dream Island is edited by Daria Sol Andrews, Lauren Johnson, Sofia Jonsson & Essi Vesala.  With contributions from Daria Sol Andrews, Ana Victoria Bruno,  Linnéa Gad, Viola Gad, Salad Hilowle, Erin Honeycutt, Lauren Johnson, Sofia Jonsson, Jari Kallio Jaakko Pallasvuo, Meryem Saadi, Nadia Tehran, Igor Blomberg Tranæus, Essi Vesala, and Elin Már Øyen Vister.

Graphic Design by Frida Häggström, Simon Nilsson, Jasmine Berge & Lars Høie.

The publication & the launch event of Dream Island is organised as part of the curriculum of the second year MA Curating Art, International Master’s Programme at Stockholms universitet.
