Seljavegur

On Seljavegur 32, by the sea in the western part of Reykjavík, SIM, The Association of Visual Artists in Iceland, runs an international residency apartment. In the same building are 45 studios for Icelandic artists, members of SIM.

The apartment is situated on the top floor, with a great view over the ocean, towards Snæfellsjökull (Snaefellsnes Glacier). The apartment consists of  7 double bedrooms, 2 single bedrooms, 6 studios/work rooms, a living room (TV/ sofa), a fully equipped kitchen: refrigerator/ coffee machine / toaster / cooking machine / washing machine (etc), two toilets and one bathroom with shower. Those are shared by the artists staying each time.

The apartment /studio is a non-smoking area.

Seljavegur 32 is only 10 minutes walk from the old city center in Reykjavík. Close by are bus stops, food-stores, hard ware store, a swimming pool, a cinema, the University of Iceland, restaurants etc.

Each artist has his/her own private bedroom with either 1-2 single beds or 1 double bed. There are 4 private studios and 2 bigger studios that are shared. It is expected that guests honor house rules, but no other obligations are made. Residents/guests keep their own rooms/studios and the apartment clean and leave the apartment in a good and clean condition. A cleaning deposit must be made on arrival in cash, which will be returned on departure.
