Open every day 10 - 17. Mondays free The exhibition hall at Miklatun Park was inaugurated in 1973, and was soon named Kjarvalsstadir in honor of the painter Jóhannes S. Kjarval. Annually it hosts exhibitions of Icelandic and international art, with special emphasis on contemporary art. Exhibitions from the Kjarval Collection is always a feature in the schedule at Kjarvalsstadir.

The Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum exhibits works by the Icelandic sculptor, Sigurjón Ólafsson. It is a private foundation, founded 1988. In addition to its exhibition of Ólafsson's works, the museum sponsors various cultural programmes and its weekly summer concerts have become popular events in the culture life of Reykjavík.
