SAMBAND ÍSLENSKRA MYNDLISTARMANNA  SÍM

The Associaton of Icelandic Visual Artists (SÍM) defends the interests of Icelandic artists and functions as their trade union.

The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists is composed of the following societies and their members:  The Society of Icelandic Artists  (FIM), The Icelandic Printmakers Association, The Association of Icelandic Ceramic Artists, Reykjavík Sculptors Society (MHR), Society of Textile Artists and a group of individual artists. 

SÍM runs an Artists´ Apartment/studio for Visual Artists in the SÍM- House, Hafnarstræti 16, Reykjavík. 

The aims and goals of the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists, SIM are:  to strengthen artists´associations and to act as the defender of the interests of all artists and as their negotiating body and to improve the wages and contract terms and working basis of artists and to defend their rights and interests.

SÍM is a member of:  The Union of Icelandic Artists (BÍL) , The International Association of Art ( IAA), Billedkunstnernes Forbund ( BIN), Nordisk Kunstforbund (NKF), European Visual Artists Network (EVAN).
